I no longer get a newspaper, as I no longer wanted to be in a permanent state of depression. I just sit back and let the local news bites , [ as I quick click my way through the news on TV] fill me in on the strange and wierd,that is Oregon. I live right across the Columbia River in a border city, that is in Washington. [Not,DC] The 1/8th mile , I5 Bridge is the dividing line between weird and weirder.
Portland and Vancouver...you say Vancouver BC, I say , No Vancouver , Washington. You say, Portland, Maine. I say No, Portland Or.
We are the forgotten bastard step child of the great, even WEIRDER City of Seattle, Washington, 168 miles further north...
TRIVIA: Portland, Or. One can ride a 2 wheel bike NUDE in down town Portland and it is not a crime, misdemeanor, or ticket-able.....
Only a person witha 60 year history in the area can make these statements of WEIRD & WEIRDER , and get away with it. Otherwise, I manage to get my rain rusted jaw working and tell the person making the remark, to go 'hose themselves', [that's how we maintain our Rusty,Crusty selves and keep our color]....No newbie and by that I mean any newcomer to the area, who has lived here less than 20 yrs has the right to pass any kind of judgment on the area, its people, "politics", [that comes in as WEIRDER-ER] AND ITS WEATHER..as those complaining , judgmental folks just might get their newly rusted jaw realigned and oiled for good measure, but the rest of the newbies, just get told to 'get the flock out and go back wherever they came from and take their crime, drugs [meth] KIDS and MONEY -TAXES, with them on their way out of the State..
"Yah, lets build a million dollar house" , with our overly inflated millions we just got for our tract house in Ant-hill- ville, [ha-ha jokes on you] and then build us a million dollar house in Yokelville, drive the taxes up, so every native mothers son working in the woods or a lumber mill or aluminum plant, has to move to a real slum, because the newbies brought along their own set of ' City Commissioners from Ant-hillsville', who decide to drive up the Taxes, so Mr. & Mrs. Newbie and Kids, can have all their previous amenities, AND ENTITLEMENTS.

Then when it looks bad, real bad like the slum we just left , we'll move on to another pristine Yokleville and start all over.
Yah, well I guess the buck stops here....the government burst internally from the greed of all the entitlement folks, you can only steal from the old and weary workers, so long. Those Yokels who placed their trust in Politicians and mandatorily paid into a FICA that was to keep them from living under some bridge somewhere. When they could no longer haul themselves to a dangerous woodland and cut trees, or to a hot, dirty aluminum plant, or a belching paper factory and finally get a paltry Social Security check..'get' that first word "Social" like in socialist.
The Rich, ah, yes the rich..well there you have it. The rich have the money to buy the commissioners, who help pass the laws for the City's and the Rich buy their boy for the Fed. Government to pass laws so they can steal from the poor and then more laws to not pay their fair share of taxes...not all the Taxes, just their fair share.. and you Liberals [and you know who you are, and by any other personal Define-ment] working in the Computer Industry, making FAT,FAT salary's, living maybe on Lopez with Paul Allen and all the others also making 100K or more per year....yah, you are part of the RICH.....
All the Hippies,Yuppies, and every other "ies", who have lived the golden dream, paid for by their parents and their parents. WHO, for the most part are still living off their parents and or entitlements given to them free ..[they are entitled you see] ..who have never lived a day hungry [in this country], cold, or thrown in jail for their subversive rhetoric, when their Government fails to cough up more "juice".
Yes all those Liberties paid for with others lives...lives of their fellow men and women, who laid down their lives, so some, '20 some things', can have a, "occupy some land", paid for by lives of generations before them. Holy Crap I just made myself depressed...This was just going to be a little pressure-letting off steam- article, about Liberal Sanctuary Cities, in Oregon, being broke, imagine that???. I see now that I am really angry at myself. I helped raise the 45/50+ something’s, flushing my Country down the toilet. God help me I did. I have traveled extensively and have seen with my own eyes the real poor and starving of this world.
NOT, The whining, terrorists, anarchists, alive and well in my Country, these are a real wake up call to all the bad parenting, coddling, of folks who are running the boat as I speak, right out to sea and sinking the whole mess, themselves right along with whose of us who made them what they are....
